College Choice Releases 2017 Ranking of the 30 Best Online Bachelor’s in Elementary Education
College Choice, a leading authority in college and university rankings and resources, has published a ranking of the 30 Best Online Bachelor’s in Elementary Education Degrees for 2017.

For those wanting to enter the profession, a bachelor’s degree in education is an excellent way to go. The degree provides a good foundation in teaching theory, as well as the practical experience to begin a career with confidence. Of course, post-secondary education is notoriously expensive, and not everyone can leave their home and job to attend university in a full-time, campus setting. In the last decade, online degrees have filled this gap, offering a respectable, affordable option for non-traditional students.
“While the convenience is certainly an attraction, prospective students should be aware that online teaching programs often have face-to-face or practicum requirements which may necessitate travel,” Christian Amondson, Managing Editor of College Choice, said of the ranking. “It should also be noted that if you are applying to a teaching program outside of your home state, make sure to look into state certification reciprocity agreements.”
College Choice developed its list by looking at three different factors: academic quality, return on investment, and program quality. Data was collected from a variety of publicly accessible sites and databases, including U.S. News & World Report, the National Center for Education Statistics, individual college websites, and the National Council for Teacher Quality rankings from 2016.
The ranking for the 30 Best Online Bachelor’s in Elementary Education Degrees for 2017 finds Drexel University in the top spot. Mississippi State University is in second, and Regis University rounds out the top three.
