Thync Debuts Thync Relax Pro, Designed Exclusively to Relieve Increasing Levels of Stress and Poor Sleep

With U.S. stress levels reaching a tipping point and costing the American economy about $300 billion per year, Silicon Valley-based Thync, the first company to pioneer researched-based technology focusing on neurostimulation, today announced Thync Relax Pro, the company’s next generation solution that will focus exclusively on relieving stress and encouraging restful sleep and relaxation.

Using next generation technology originally developed and tested for Thync’s first product launched in 2015, Thync Relax Pro is a focused solution for stress and sleep. It consists of a simple-to-use padded pod that sits only on the back of the neck to tap into the body’s natural mechanisms to deliver stress relief through gentle nerve stimulation. It also includes two neurostimulation programs, Thync Deep Relax and Thync Deep Sleep, which are controlled by the user via the Thync Relax Pro app from a smartphone. When used together, the app, pod and accompanying electrode pads gently stimulate nerves on the neck that connect directly to areas of the brain which help control stress levels, mood and sleep quality.

“Over the past two years, we’ve discovered that people want and need a way to conquer stress, nervousness, and sleep, without chemicals,” said Isy Goldwasser, CEO of Thync. “We found that we could simplify the experience and focus solely on relieving stress and anxious thoughts through a second generation product that gives people the ability to proactively let go of their daily worries and sleep soundly. Our technology unlocks unprecedented access to the human mind and gives people an ‘off button’ to let go of their stress and anxiety that doesn’t involve artificial substances.”

The Science Behind Thync

“Thync uses low level electrical stimulation to activate specific nerve pathways on the head and neck,” said Dr. Sumon Pal, Thync’s Head of Science. “These pathways communicate with areas in the brain that help control stress levels, mood and sleep quality. Using this approach, Thync Relax Pro delivers carefully constructed stimulation patterns that tap into your body’s own mechanisms to relax, improve mood and sleep better. Nerve stimulation approaches have been used for decades and have shown to be safe with minimal or no side effects.”

Thync Relax Pro will be offered as a $29/month service with an upfront purchase of the Thync Pod for $149. The monthly subscription provides access to Deep Sleep and Deep Relax neurostimulation programs and Thync Pad Packs. Thync neurostimulation programs are automatically updated and enhanced, and Thync Pad Packs are automatically sent via auto-fulfillment based on usage.

Stress Levels Have Reached Unprecedented Levels in the U.S., and Costing Americans More Money

Stress in America appears to have reached a tipping point that now goes beyond daily personal worries of work and family. The American Psychological Association, which conducts annual stress polls, conducted a survey in January 2017 related to stress levels among Americans tied to the current state of the union. The January 2017 APA poll found that for more than half of Americans (57 percent), the current political climate is a very or somewhat significant source of stress. Two-thirds (66 percent) say the same about the future of our nation, and nearly half (49 percent) report that the outcome of the election is a very or somewhat significant source of stress. All this stress comes at a price; it’s estimated that stress costs the American economy about $300 billion per year and that up to 90% of all doctor’s office visits are for stress-related ailments and complaints.

“Dealing with stress, whether real or perceived, is a major concern for many of us,” said Dr. Eric Potterat, the former Head Psychologist for the Navy SEALs who is considered one of the leading experts on stress mitigation. “I’ve worked with not only military personnel, but also professional athletes and first responders, all of whom are under tremendous pressure. My assessment is that Thync’s technology is a breakthrough that could potentially help the American public, as well as professionals in high pressure environments, lower their stress levels.” Dr. Potterat is also a senior advisor to Thync.
