College Choice Releases 2017 Ranking of the 35 Best Online Psychology Degrees
College Choice, a leading authority in college and university rankings and resources, has published a ranking of the 35 Best Online Psychology Degrees for 2017.
Psychology is one of the most popular college majors, in large part due to the insight the field gives into human thought and behavior. For someone looking to secure a college degree, particularly if they’re already busy with work and family obligations, an online program might be the best way forward.
Despite the stigma online programs once held, they have mostly shed those stereotypes and have increasingly solid reputations, in large part because online programs are developed and taught by the same faculty who teach the traditional, on-campus courses.
“We’ve put together this list to get a feel for the programs that best prepare their students to understand the field, and either succeed in the workplace or in graduate school,” Christian Amondson, Managing Editor of College Choice, said of the ranking. “While some programs emphasize clinical psychology and others are more research-based, they all share one thing in common despite the difference of name and emphasis: they are the best at equipping students.”
College Choice developed its list by looking at both academic quality as well as return on investment—a weight of tuition against expected early career salary. Data comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, U.S. News & World Report, individual college websites, and Payscale.
