Hammond’s Candies Expands Award-Winning Chocolate Bar Line with Tributes to Much-Loved Desserts

Hammond’s Candies, the confectioner known for using high quality ingredients to create new twists on old-fashioned treats, is at it again with their latest announcement of new chocolate bar flavors. One of a family of brands owned by the 2007-established Hammond’s Brands, Hammond’s today announced details about its Cinnamon Churro, Midnight Snack, and Fortune Cookie flavors, which will be available for retailer purchase on May 22nd.

Cinnamon Churro features milk chocolate and a cinnamon-vanilla glaze center in a nod to the hot fried-dough dessert sold by street vendors and at cafés and fairs. Midnight Snack pairs dark chocolate with pretzel, cookie, brittle, marshmallow, and cereal so late-night snackers don’t have to choose which flavor fits their fancy. Fortune Cookie combines dark chocolate with cookie bits and comes with the added surprise of a fortune, lucky numbers, and a Chinese word pronunciation guide on the inner-backside of each bar’s wrapper.

“Consumers have spoken: They love their chocolate! In fact, in the 52 weeks ending April 30, 2016 consumers spent $21.5 billion on candy. Chocolate specifically is a leader of this pack, generating $11.2 billion in sales in that same period,”1 said Andrew Schuman, Hammond’s President and CEO. “We’re excited to use our high-quality ingredients and age-old recipes to take much-loved chocolate to the next level with new, comforting flavors that are reminiscent of desserts that consumers love.”

The new flavors join traditional favorites like Sea Salt Caramel, Cookie Dough, and Peanut Butter Cup, as well as other fun and award-winning unique flavors like Pigs N’ Taters, Peanut Butter and Red Velvet Cake to round out Hammond’s chocolate bar line.
