Wendell August Debuts Artisan Jewelry Catalog
Wendell August, Grove City-based premium metal giftware brand, released it’s first-ever jewelry catalog featuring handcrafted, American-made jewelry. The book features designs from Wendell August lead jewelry designer, Emily Hendrie, as well as three additional jewelry artisans.
The Jewelry Studio at Wendell August began in 2009 when craftswoman and artist, Emily Hendrie, had a vision. She saw the giftware that did not meet standard quality in the recycle bins, and by removing their flaws she knew there was an opportunity to make these pieces into something spectacular. Using her creative talents and jewelry background, Emily started transforming this leftover metal into imaginative pieces of jewelry that had universal appeal. The first Upcycled collection from Wendell August was an immediate success, and the jewelry studio was born. To this day, Emily and her team continue to create inventive pieces of jewelry, handcrafted in America, that women and men can feel good about wearing.
As the jewelry assortment and customer base has grown, a need to provide additional designs for a more complete collection was identified. Hendrie and the design team sought out jewelry artisans with American-made pieces in styles that complemented their existing assortment and philosophies that were in alignment with Wendell August’s vision and values.
The Lenny & Eva collection, created by Kellie Fitzpatrick, is handcrafted in Baxter, Tennessee, and offers women an opportunity to choose their mantra for the day with interchangeable, inspirational bracelet designs.
Never Lose Hope, founded by Marcia Davis, was created out of a need to ‘do something’ for children in Haiti, after seeing the amount of poverty and orphaned children during a mission trip. Proceeds of each Never Lose Hope necklace and bracelet are donated to orphanages in Haiti.
Audra Azoury, a Pittsburgh artist, creates jewelry inspired by her hometown’s bridges, landscapes and architecture, offering Pittsburghers unique jewelry that helps them connect to their city.
“We are thrilled to launch this jewelry catalog and expanded offering to our customers. Combining the talents and designs of Emily, Kellie, Marcia, and Audra, we feel we have an amazing collection of American-made jewelry to offer our customers. These partnerships help us continue to celebrate and feature American-made products and artisans,” says Christian Werner, President.
