Computer and information technology is expected to grow at double-digit rates in the years ahead as cloud computing, big data, mobile computing, and computer networks all expand at a rapid pace. One of the best ways to get involved in this field is to pursue a degree from a high-quality college.
“Median earnings for entry-level information technologists can range from $60-70,000 annually,” Christian Amondson, Managing Editor of College Choice, said of the ranking. “Furthermore, since this is an especially dynamic and developing field, the potential to advance quickly—both in responsibility as well as earnings—is quite high.”
College Choice developed its list by looking at data from the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA, U.S. News & World Report, the National Center for Education Statistics, and Payscale.
