Culture Trip (culturetrip.com), a global tech-media startup, today launches its app for iOS and Android. Culture Trip is a free travel inspiration app that makes local culture globally accessible. Users can explore 300+ locations around the globe through the lens of passionate locals and in-house journalists.

From unknown stories about Mexico’s third gender to the most Instagrammable dishes in Beijing, films to see before visiting Belgium or top restaurants in New York’s SoHo, Culture Trip covers every area of culture including food, travel, music, sport, entertainment, fashion, art, design, health, technology and books.

Culture Trip Features:

  • Covers extensively 300+ locations with more being added all the time.
  • Easy-to-use app inspires travelers with unknown places, expert advice, local knowledge and recommendations.
  • Using artificial intelligence, the app gradually learns from each individual user, giving recommendations based on their personal preferences, identified interests or customized to their specific travel dates.
  • Identifies the user’s current location and serves up travel inspiration for that area, so users can browse when in their hometown or when on vacation.
  • Allows users to save and revisit their favorite finds and easily share on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest.

Dr. Kris Naudts, Culture Trip‘s CEO & Founder, and former psychiatrist said: I’ve always had a fascination with people’s desire for knowledge and their curiosity about the world around them. At Culture Trip, we aim to inspire people by celebrating culture and making it globally and universally accessible. Our app draws on our local experts, which means that our users can get a truly authentic sense of any place or culture, and a curated experience wherever they go.”

Culture Trip’s focus on inspiring content for any destination was centered in its learnings and growth across social media. The audience on our social channels skyrocketed when we began to cover local secrets: our fans really engage when we empower them to discover different worlds and cultures. We want to deliver that same experience with our app,” Naudts said.

Within the last six months, the company has experienced triple digit growth across its social media channels. Culture Trip now has 2.6 million followers on Facebook and reached 270 million users, delivering 1B impressions in May. Almost 7.5 million people visit Culture Trip’s website each month and 340k people installed the first edition of the app, which has been well-received since its soft launch in 2016.

Culture Trip is free and available to download on iOS and Android from June 26.
