Katrina Woolverton Returns to the Road with a National Tour and New EP “Better Now”
Vocalist/songwriter Katrina Woolverton returns with a new EP, single, video and tour! The multi-talented powerhouse will be putting all her talents on full display live, opening for Midwest pop/rocker Jon McLaughlin during the April leg of his U.S. tour kicking off in New York City on April 14th.
The song is from her new EP Better Now (REDRED/SONY/ RED/BDG), a six-track offering showcasing the star’s gift for musical nuance, songwriting and vocal range. The EP also includes the reassuring title track “Better Now” (co-written with Grammy winner Amy Wadge who co-penned Ed Sheeran’s 2016 Grammy winning smash, “Thinking Out Loud”), “Open Hearted,” “Known Better,” “Lonely Heart,” and “Heart Beats.”
Recorded mostly in London, the EP was mixed and produced by renowned producer Mikal Blue, (One Republic, Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz, among others) with co-production by Jez Coad, Jules Wolfson and Katrina Woolverton. Mikal is a co-writer on the single “Hold Me Down,” and also engineered the EP with Jonathan Sagis.
Included in Better Now’s deft mix of contributors/songwriters alongside Blue and Wadge are Raja Kumari (Gwen Stefani, Fall Out Boy) and Jules Wolfson (co-founder of Nexus Music with more than 100 gold and platinum certifications).
On tour, Katrina will be acoustically spotlighting, with guitarist Andrew Doolittle, her new treasure trove of songs in multiple major U.S. cities on the trek, including stops in Boston (4/15), Atlanta (4/22), Philadelphia (4/28), and more (dates below). The upcoming tour and new EP mark another exciting turning point in Woolverton’s accomplished career. Since her 2011 debut with the critically acclaimed album In the Blink of an Eye, Katrina has released 4 chart topping singles, developed a social fan base of nearly a ½ million followers, and was the opener for the multi-platinum artist Meat Loaf on his “Mad Mad World Tour.”
