AZEK’s Low-Maintenance, Splinter-Free Decks for Docks

AZEK® Building Products is a leader in low-maintenance, durable, outdoor building materials, creating a natural pathway for the use of AZEK® and TimberTech® decking in custom dock applications. From residential docks to communal waterfront landings or entire commercial marinas, AZEK Building Products are engineered to last beautifully, providing the perfect balance of form and function.

Docks made from both decking brands are showcased in AZEK Building Products’ new landing page AZEK.com/docks.

AZEK® Deck for docks are splinter-free, resistant to mold, mildew and moisture damage, and won’t crack, rot or warp. Coated with Alloy Amour Technology™ protection, AZEK’s collections provide superior heat dissipation and a 30-year Limited Fade & Stain Warranty.  TimberTech decking for docks is like wood, but tougher, featuring a capped wood composite deck board wrapped on all four sides with a protective polymer coating. Like AZEK, it helps prevent moisture damage, which can seep into the bottom or sides of the competition’s products.

“Whether the project is a small residential dock, floating platform, or commercial marina or boardwalk, AZEK products are the superior choice and outperform wood every time,” said Julia Fitzgerald, Chief Marketing Officer of AZEK Building Products. “Between their superior heat dissipation, industry-leading warranties, and splinter-fee attributes, our docks are the perfect, long-term solution.”

Doug Speeler Jr., owner and president of Speeler Foundations, Inc. in Pinellas County, Florida, is a second-generation contractor.  Throughout his career, he has used, and found problems with, nearly every form of composite and PVC decking material before finding success with AZEK. His father built Madeira Beach Marina 40 years ago with wood, and the city recently made the decision to rebuild using AZEK materials.

“Over the years, wood has proven not to last, we’ve tried 30 to 40 composite or PVC type of materials and had issues with all of them. There’s fading, there are mold problems, the decking has bubbled up or bowed. AZEK has been a great solution for customers, and we like it because of its on-trend colors, durability and ease of installation,” said Speeler.
