Aussie Duo Bag Raiders Preps Tour As “Shooting Stars” Reenters Dance Charts

Newly signed Interscope Recording artists, Bag Raiders, are celebrating the unforeseen return of their indie dance classic, “Shooting Stars,” to the international dance music charts. Originally released as a single in 2009, the song’s current revival was catapulted by a series of nonsensical but humorous memes that exploded in cyberspace.

“Definitely the first one made me laugh and a couple of the NBA ones, too,” band member Jack Glass told New York magazine in a recent interview. “But there’s no explaining the internet, that’s for sure. Happy a whole bunch of new people get to hear our music.”

The ethereal dance track is presently sitting pretty at #14 on Billboard magazine’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, #20 on the Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs chart and #15 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Songs Sales chart. It is also charting on iTunes (Australia, UK, Brazil), Spotify’s Viral 200 and Shazam. The “Shooting Stars” single was officially re-released on Friday, March 18th on all digital platforms.

Classically trained musicians, who play six different instruments between them, Glass and partner, Christopher Stracey, bring new levels of innovation and sophistication to the dance music world. The auspicious two-man band from the land down under is eager to connect with fans — old and new — and will be kicking off a tour of the US next month.
