Delta Faucet Company Encourages Water Efficiency

Household leaks in the United States can waste over one trillion gallons of water nationwide per year, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)1. Delta Faucet Company, a 2016 WaterSense® Sustained Excellence Award winner, encourages homeowners to make simple updates around the home to help reduce water waste and eliminate leaks.

Ten percent of homes have undetected leaks that waste 90 gallons of water or more per household each day2. To combat this issue and deliver consumers peace of mind, the Delta® Leak Detector, designed in conjunction with iDevices, can be placed near a water source to monitor and identify the presence of unwanted dripping or pooling of water. Its distinct shape and design enables the device to detect small droplets and alert the user to leaks immediately via the home’s Wi-Fi. The first detection of any water triggers a notification to a connected smartphone anytime, anywhere. For further assurance, an audible alarm and built-in LED lights also work to notify those in the home.

Swapping current fixtures with WaterSense-labeled products can eliminate leaks and cut down on water-related costs. WaterSense-labeled products, which use at least 20 percent less water, will lead to a more environmentally conscious living space. All Delta lavatory faucets meet or exceed WaterSense requirements, flowing at a rate of 1.2 gallons per minute. WaterSense-labeled shower heads and hand showers are also available and coordinate with a wide variety of décor styles.

Upgrading the bath with H2Okinetic® showers reduces the amount of water used when showering while providing three times more coverage than a standard shower head3. Each shower head and hand shower contains an internal system that controls the speed, movement and droplet size of the water, creating the feeling of more water without using more water.
