Hestan Debuts Hestan Cue: Connected, Smart Cooking System
Hestan, the innovative culinary brand redefining its category, forges a new path in culinary technology with the launch of Hestan Cue, a guided cooking system connected via Bluetooth® technology. Through a perfect marriage of science, technology and culinary craftsmanship, Cue transforms home cooking into an immersive, culinary experience. Cue’s connected pan, induction burner and recipe app act as a coach in the kitchen, guiding users through each phase of the cooking process, helping to ensure a perfectly finished dish ever time.
Engineered by a team of culinary experts, software developers and meticulous designers over the course of two years, Cue elevates the cooking experience for every skill level. Through a fully connected system, it works in unison with the home cook, guiding them through every step of a recipe and eliminating the guesswork and intimidation of cooking. With help from the Bluetooth-enabled technology and embedded heat sensors in Cue’s pan and induction burner, users can rely on automatic control of the most vital cooking variables: time and temperature. Cue builds confidence in the kitchen by equipping users of any skill level with the tools and techniques to create elaborate dishes.
“Cooking and plating the elegant meals we enjoy at our favorite restaurants is something home cooks aspire to, but the outcome between home cooking and fine dining often feels miles apart,” said Christoph Milz, managing director, Hestan Smart Cooking. “We saw an opportunity to close the gap by using technology to enhance the cooking experience for everyone – regardless of skill level. By gathering a team of accomplished chefs, designers and engineers, we developed a smart connected system that enables home cooks to enjoy the art of cooking new dishes they didn’t dream possible.”
Hestan enlisted the expertise of culinary heavyweight, Chef Philip Tessier who spent 11 years at the Thomas Keller Restaurant Group’s award-winning Bouchon, Per Se and The French Laundry. He also coached Team USA to a gold medal at the 2017 Bocuse d’Or – the Olympics of the culinary world. Tessier lent his culinary craftsmanship to help develop a system that brings confidence and skill to everyone, allowing users to enjoy cooking without hesitation or doubt. “By controlling vital variables like time and temperature, Cue offers the cooking techniques of professionals to every home kitchen,” said Chef Philip Tessier, director of culinary, Hestan Smart Cooking. “Cue allows home cooks to explore beyond their culinary comfort zone and better connect them to their love of food.”
Central to the Hestan Cue system is the iOS and Android app which acts as the command center for the entire connected cooking process. From Michelin-star chefs, kitchens and food scientists comes a calibrated library currently stocked with hundreds of recipes, and new ones continually being added.
The app enables users of all skill levels to enjoy and explore new dishes and culinary techniques directly from the experts through video guidance. From “Pan Seared Scallops Beurre Blanc” to a medium-rare “Flat Iron Steak with Chimichurri,” Cue’s app allows the user to select their preferred level of doneness and automatically adjusts the recipe to the appropriate temperature and cook time for their desired result.
“At Hestan, we are constantly examining how we can elevate the cooking experience at home,” said Stanley Cheng, founder/proprietor, Hestan. “Through an integration of technology, science, design and culinary craftsmanship, Cue enables every home cook to create a culinary masterpiece.”
“As the official retail partner of Hestan Cue, we were impressed by the level of technology, design and detail that went into developing this smart cooking system,” said Janet Hayes, president, Williams Sonoma. “Cue is poised to revolutionize home cooking and we can’t wait for our customers to try it.”
The Hestan Cue smart cooking system is now available at HestanCue.com and Williams Sonoma for an SRP of $649.99. The system comes equipped with an 11-inch fry pan and 1600-watt portable induction burner. The Cue app is available for download on iOS and Android smartphones and tablet devices.
